Fruits in Monsoon

Cherry:

Select cherries that are plump, have glossy skins and pleasing green stems. Avoid spongy, dull or injured fruit. Small hard cherries lack flavour and juice, although the smaller varieties you get in India turn out to be pretty sweet. Even though they have a tinge of yellow you can opt for them. After the purchase make sure you store them in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. Cherries are highly perishable, so use as soon as possible.

Litchi:

It is preferable to buy litchis that are in bundles with stems and leaves rather than the loose ones. Choose those with brightly coloured skin instead of faded skins. Ensure the litchis are free of blemishes and avoid broken skins. Litchis taste best soon after purchase, but can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week.

Peach:

When you want to pick up peaches, make sure the flesh is firm but yields to gentle pressure. Buy peaches that have a rich yellow colour especially at the stem. And most importantly a very distinct peachy aroma should be there give them a good sniff before buying.
